Pre-cultivated lawn was spread evenly to receive an immediate finished look.  

Automatic irrigation was installed to provide regular water supply for the entire roof area.  

The green roof is rising steadily from the ground level during the office tower.

Project Report: Vathorst “Terp-Woningen”, Amersfoort/Netherlands

Upper picture: Like blooming hills the houses appear in the green surrounding of Vathorst. The project was very successful: the houses were completely sold out in a few weeks.

The roofs have been planted with a low-maintenance sedum carpet down to a slope of more than 30 degrees.  

The rest of the building was landscaped with creepers and climbing plants.  

Trellis and espaliers are also placed between the buildings and above the carports.

Upper picture: This green roof project was part of a renovation of the 19th century warehouses located on the waterfront of “Het IJ” in Amsterdam.

The inner courtyard joins the old brick building with new apartment buildings.  

Skylight allows for natural light inside the building.  

Two layers of Georaster® were required to provide the lawn sufficient space for the roots.

Upper picture: The green roof flows wave-like up-wards to the road above. The building is incorporated aesthetically into the mountainside as a result.

The road sloping slightly upwards to the fire station.  

An extensive green roof was installed along with Georaster® elements that are fitted from the bottom upwards.  

Flat, black plastic solar collectors are fitted along parts of the roof ridge in order to generate warm water for the outdoor swimming pool.
