Vertigreen® – Facade greening for indoor and outdoor areas
The classic greening of façades with climbing plants is well-known the world over. With our Vertigreen® system, however, the façade itself is the base for the vegetation. With the appropriate choice of plants, the system is also suitable for indoor areas.
In addition to aesthetic, landscape and architectural factors, vertical greening, like roof greening, provides for an improved climate, enhanced biodiversity and, particularly in towns and cities, a more pleasant living environment.
The Vertigreen® system is relatively easy to install. However, a precise assessment of the prevailing lighting and climate conditions is required when choosing the plants.
Overview of worksteps and function

With Vertigreen®, a sophisticated station for both irrigation and the provision of nutrients ensures the supply of nutrient solution. Even at the height of summer, irrigation is only required every two days. At the same time, the Vertigreen® method of irrigation ensures that there is no over supply to the modules located in the shady part at the foot of the wall and no under supply to the more strongly desiccating modules higher up the wall.
As vertical greening presents an extreme type of location for plants, ongoing intensive care and maintenance is required. This includes monitoring irrigation and fertilization, cutting back the plants and also replacing plants that have fallen off.
